Ben Goodman with MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski
At only 18 years old a guy can have an extremely different outlook and view than a 45 year old. What makes Barack Obama remarkable as a politician is that he has been able to revitalize and come out on top of the Democratic party. His honest way of seeing things and his positive message for change has helped to connect him with both 18 year olds and 75 year olds alike. He has drawn new voters, helped to spawn thousands of grassroots groups, and raise money both for his Presidential campaign and for state & national campaigns in this close election year.
Ben Goodman is one such 18 year old who has been inspired with Barack Obama’s message of change. Representing the first congressional district of Maine as a delegate in the 2008 Democratic Convention in Denver he is one of the youngest delegates attending the convention. He was selected as a delegate by his peers at the Maine Democratic Convention in Augusta in May and has been working on the current set of campaigns since 2006.
It seems the entire country is focused in on the Democratic National Convention taking place this week in Denver, Colorado. Both Democrats and Republicans have been intensely following coverage on the convention. With national conservative talk show hosts attacking Barack Obama for not choosing Hilary Clinton as his running mate*, it seems that the other party is more interested in the Democratic party than they’re own.

This is Part 1 of a 3 part series on the DNC Convention.
Our newest user is Lordslure who is interested in helping to post new and interesting videos that he finds across the net. His first video is actually one that he made himself.
Actor Tom Hanks has officially given his support to Barack Obama for president. After giving money to both campaigns he finally concludes that Obama is the best candidate and he tells it to everyone via a video on his Myspace. Beware: Celebrity Endorsement
Here’s a time lapse day at Fenway. Besides this spectacular view before and during a game the other thing I wanted to bring up is the new video service from Vimeo. Vimeo is much like Youtube except that it plays at a very high quality rate. Using brand new technology you can switch between HD or not, and the difference is amazing. Look at some more of their videos at: Vimeo.com
Today is Earth Day, supposedly meant as a day for awareness to environmental issues. However, I think the best thing is to actually get outside and enjoy it for yourself.
I’ve been working out now for 5 months either Wrestling, or going to the gym at least every other day. After 4 months of waiting, it’s finally above freezing most of the time, and the leaves are starting to bud on the trees. To celebrate the good weather I plan on participating in a few road races this summer starting at the 5k, and reaching a half marathon by September.
My main running experience has either been through practice which compromises almost entirely of springs, and long grueling jogs or through the treadmill at the gym. Last week I went on my first run outside, and I can tell you there’s no substitute for the real thing. My driveway is nearly 1\4 mile long and just as I reached the end of it, I realized that I was going to regret not stretching or warming up. While my goal is to do a formal 5K, I completed this 5 mile (1.9 miles more) loop successfully without much trouble. If I had tried to do this same loop 5 months ago, I would not have made it out of my driveway.
Because I know I complete a 5K with ease, I hope to work on my speed for a fast time. My next goal for around July will be a 10K. I’ll start posting my tips and advice for those wanting to either get fit, or want to run.
